A Joint Venture of St. Camillus, St. Patrick’s, St. John the Baptist and neighboring parishes
Since 2018, Living the Gospel has brought to St. Camillus and our neighboring parishes a series of presentations, discussions, retreats, and workshops aimed at bringing the Gospel to bear on our daily lives. Using the teachings of Jesus, we personally and collectively ground ourselves in God, becoming more open to the ways God’s love can transform us.
Topics have included faith and spirituality, forgiveness, justice, peace, anti-racism, and the role of the church in these times. The series centers on living the multiple dimensions of the Gospel, which is about the experience of God changing lives.
Living the Gospel event for May:
Perfect Love Casts Out Fear (1 John 4:18) May 24, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Come and enjoy a spiritual retreat based on the First Letter of John, a unitive and mystical letter. Love that is whole, unitive, divine dispels all our fears. We live with a great many fears, anxieties, and worries. What holds us in fear? Why is love called perfect? How can we be free and experience life? The First Letter of John guides us into an experience of oneness that opens answers to these questions. This short, evening retreat will have lectio divina, silence, group discussion, and a brief talk. *Come for an experience of the incomprehensible love of God. *Come to be enlightened by the divine light.
