Bread for the World Offering of Letters on May 16 Hunger is reaching historic levels. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate families and communities across the United States and around the world.
In addition, climate change and food systems have many interconnections, and each affects the other in complex ways. However, each of us can be a powerful source for good, including through our advocacy against hunger and poverty.
This year’s Offering of Letters builds on last year’s work as Bread for the World invites us to continue to urge Congress to expand anti-hunger programs in response to the pandemic, and to increase funding for nutrition programs. This will include making permanent some important elements in the American Rescue Plan legislation passed in 2021.
Please look for more information next weekend (May 16), and plan to take part.
